A solid first day and better second day lifted Roland-Story sophomore Kaitlyn Rahfeldt to a top ten finish at the Class 2A girls state golf tournament in Ames.
Rahfeldt tied for ninth place at the event with a score of 167, shooting an 86 over the first 18 holes and an 81 over the last 18 of the 36-hole tourney. She was in 15th place after the first day. A total of 72 golfers took part in the state meet.
Dike-New Hartford's Morgan Weber, who was the only golfer to place ahead of Rahfeldt at regionals, took individual medalist top honors in Class 2A. She shot a 147. New Hampton won the 2A team championship.
