After being denied a playoff bid last season, this year's Nevada Cubs football team is on a mission of redemption.  Roland-Story found that out the hard way Friday night (9/4) in a 63-6 thumping at the hands of the 2-0 Cubs.

The Norse were never in the game as Nevada scored every time it had the ball in the first half en route to a 49-0 halftime lead.  R-S, now 0-2 on the season, didn't score until the fourth quarter when Luke Patton connected with Kale Lande on a 46-yard touchdown pass.

Zach Twedt rushed for 29 yards on eight carries to lead the Norsemen ground game.  Patton completed 2-of-11 passes for 48 yards.  Nolan Bell led the Roland-Story defense with 5 1/2 tackles.

The Norse finished the night with 102 yards of total offense (54 rush, 48 pass).  The Cubs piled up 525 yards of offense (335 rush, 190 pass).

Roland-Story opens district play Friday night (9/11) at Forest City.
