Sansgaard Baseball 2019

Strong pitching performances twice carried South Hamilton past Roland-Story in Heart of Iowa Conference baseball Friday (6/14) at Jewell.

The Hawks swept the doubleheader, 6-0 and 2-1, limiting R-S to a single run over 14 innings of play.

Roland-Story is now 10-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference and plays another HOIC game Monday night at Saydel.

The Norse's only run Friday at SH came in the first inning of game two as Ajay Twedt led off the game with a single and later scored on a Jayden MacDonald ground out.  The Norsemen had the bases loaded with no outs and scored just the one run.  R-S missed another scoring opportunity in the fourth inning when they left runners at second and third.

South Hamilton won the second game with one swing of the bat - a two-run home run by Zeke Balderas in the third inning.

Roland-Story had four hits, all singles, in getting blanked in the opening game.
