Bombers win wet one over R-S

Posted: 05/26/2010 - by Paul Clark

Visiting Ballard overcame an early 4-0 deficit to beat Roland-Story, 10-5, in high school baseball Tuesday night in Story City. The game was delayed by lightning and rain before resuming and finishing late.

The Norsemen had five hits in the game with two each for Jim Pepper and Sam Crouch, who also had two RBIs. R-S benefited from 11 bases on balls but could not overcome the Bombers 12-hit attack. Tanner Birchmeier started and took the pitching loss for Roland-Story.

The Norse are now 1-1 and host Webster City in another non-conference game Wednesday night (5/26).
