![]() Norsemen boys at state this weekendPosted: 10/23/2009 - by Paul ClarkThe Norsemen boys cross country claimed third place at the District meet at Eagle Grove on Thursday and earned a trip to the State Cross Country Meet to be held at Kennedy Park north of Fort Dodge. The meet was run in rainy, cold (39 degrees) and windy conditions. All Norse runners, boys and girls competed admirably on this night. This is the first R-S boys team to qualify for the state cross country meet since 2001 and 4th time in school history. Also, we had gone 4 straight years with no qualifiers of any kind (since Kevin Baumhover in 2004), so that streak is over. It has been their goal to get to state since before the season even started, so it's great to see them achieve this together as a team. Boys and girls times and places: R-S Boys: 9.
