![]() Norse rally falls short vs. J-SPosted: 06/26/2009 - by Paul ClarkJefferson-Scranton defeated Roland-Story, 7-6, in Heart of Iowa Conference baseball on Thursday. The Norse rallied from a 7-2 deficit and had the tying run on third base when the game ended. The loss dropped R-S to 14-5 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
Zeb Hammes hit two home runs for Roland-Story, including a three-run shot in the bottom of the seventh inning to draw the Norsemen within a run. Hammes also hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning after J-S had jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Hammes also doubled in the sixth. Gunnar Wyatt had two hits, including an RBI double, and Trent Muhlenberg singled twice as the 2-3-4 hitters in the R-S line-up accounted for all seven of the teams hits.
