![]() Pepper paces R-S past RaidersPosted: 06/23/2009 - by Paul ClarkA five-run fourth inning carried Roland-Story to an 8-5 Heart of Iowa Conference baseball win over CMB Monday night in Story City. The victory improved the Norse to 13-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference headed into a Tuesday night make-up game at Colo-Nesco in Zearing.
Jim Pepper went 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and pitched 4 2/3 innings to get the win at the Edward Jones player-of-the-game in the win over CMB. The Norsemen trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the fourth before scoring five times. The rally included a two-run single by Pepper, an RBI single by Sam Crouch, and a pair of bases loaded walks that forced in runs as well. Pepper also singled in a run in the first inning and R-S scored twice on just one hit in the bottom of the sixth.
