![]() Roland-Story whips GVPB, 10-0Posted: 05/30/2009 - by Paul Clark It was a short night at the ball park for the Roland-Story baseball team Friday. The Norsemen blitzed Grandview Park Baptist, 10-0 in five innings, to win their Heart of Iowa Conference opener at the Story City diamond.
R-S scored in every inning. Bryce Holdredge went 2-for-2 with a solo home run to lead the attack. Matt Swanson was also 2-for-2 and scored two runs. Trent Muhlenberg was the Norsemen’s starting pitcher and he went the distance, shutting out GVPB on two hits with five strikeouts and four walks. The Norse are now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Roland-Story will play a make-up game at Ballard on Saturday night. The game will be played in Slater.
