![]() Norsemen finish 6th at statePosted: 06/01/2009 - by Paul ClarkRoland-Story finished sixth in the Class 2A team standings at the 2009 Iowa High School Golf Championships that concluded Saturday in Panora. The Norse finished with a 36-hole team score of 690, including a 349 on Saturday's second day of competition at the Lake Panorama National Resort. Carroll Kuemper won the 2A team title with a score of 654.
Individually, Jordan Gustafson led the way for the Norsemen with a 5th-place finish in the medalist standings. He shot a 79 on Saturday - duplicating his day one score - to finish with a 36-hole total of 158. That was five strokes behind the gold medalist, Neil Malenke of Unity Christian. Also for R-S, Jon Meyer finished in a tie for 25th place with a 172 (86-86). Kendall Gustafson finished 38th with a 177 (88-89). Tanner Birchmeier came in 49th with a 188 (88-100) and Jace Klein was the fifth golfer contributing to Roland-Story's team score in 62nd place with a 199 (104-95).
