![]() Norse lose opener at W-GPosted: 05/29/2009 - by Paul ClarkThe 2009 softball season and the Stan Oppedal era of Roland-Story got off to a rocky start Thursday night as Woodward-Granger defeated the Norse, 11-1, in five innings at Woodward. It was the first game for Oppedal as the new head coach for R-S.
Roland-Story was limited to three hits on the night with Ashley Greff, Melissa Shadlow and McKena Carlson each delivering a single. Mykel Carlson walked and scored on a wild pitch to account for the only Norsemen run in the third inning. Woodward scored in every inning but the second to win the shortened contest on the 10-run rule. The Norse, now 0-1, play at CMB Friday night. That game will be broadcast live on NorsemenNetwork.com. The Woodward-Granger game broadcast is available on demand in the Audio Archives. Check out the Story City Herald for complete in depth coverage of Roland-Story softball this week. -ARCHIVES- |
